R1039 LNER Class A1 4-6-2 locomotive and classic teak coaches in this set depict the Flying Scottsman as it ran from London to Edinburgh non stop during the summer seasons of the 1930s. The prototype locomotive had a corridor link through the tender to the coaches to allow crews to change over without stopping the train. The track can be expanded when ready by adding extra Track Packs.
