The 17 pounder (7.62 cm) cannon was a good anti-tank gun and was even capable of penetrating the armour of the VI "Tiger" tank head on. The 17 pounder was towed by a reliable Morris C8 tractor that had seen long years of service with the British Army. From 1941 onwards the Jeep produced in the USA was also used in addition to it and as auxiliary supplies. This light cross-country vehicle set the standard for all subsequent all-terrain vehicles and achieved cult status throughout the world.
