It is the year’s most enduring race – lasting 24 hours and covering more than 380 laps. In June 2009 Peugeot proved their mettle by winning the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours.
Powering them to victory was the 908’s V12 HDi FAP diesel engine. Three Peugeot 908 HDi FAP sports prototypes had entered under the Peugeot Sport banner at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe.
In a true test of stamina and car performance, the No 9 car - driven by Marc Gené, David Brabham and Alexander Wurz - was first past the chequered flag. It was a one-two win for Peugeot, with the No 8 car, driven by Stéphane Sarrazin, Franck Montagny and Sébastien Bourdais coming in second.
